The Column (Al-Suff)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 1 Believers, why do you profess that which you do not practise? 2 Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do. 3 Lo! Allah loveth them who battle for His cause in ranks, as if they were a solid structure. 4 Moses said to his people, "Why do you create difficulties for me when you know that I am God's Messenger to you?" When they deviated (from the right path), God led their hearts astray. God does not guide the evil-doing people. 5 And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, "this is evident sorcery!" 6 And who is a greater wrong-doer than he who fabricateth against Allah a lie even as he is summoned unto Islam? And Allah guideth not a wrongdoing people. 7 they wish to put His light out with their mouths. But He will perfect His light, much as those who deny the truth may dislike it; 8 It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the true religion to stand supreme over all religions, even though the pagans may dislike it. 9
