Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah, the King (of everything), the Holy, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 1 It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error - 2 Along with others of them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise. 3 Such is the favor of God which He grants to whomever He wants. God's favor is great. 4 The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. 5 Say: "O you Jews, if you claim that you are the favourites of God apart from all men, then wish for death, if you speak the truth. 6 They will never wish for it, because of what their hands have sent forward. God has full knowledge of evil-doers. 7 Say: 'Surely death, from which you flee, shall encounter you; then you shall be returned to the Knower of the Unseen and the Visible, and He will tell you that you have been doing.' 8
