Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. 6 When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils 7 As if about to explode with rage; whenever a group is thrown into it, the guardians of hell will ask them, “Did not a Herald of Warning come to you?” 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze' 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
