Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 It is He who has created death and life to put you to the test and see which of you is most virtuous in your deeds. He is Majestic and All-forgiving. 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 And they will say: had we been wont to hearken or to reflect, we had not been among the fellows of the Blaze. 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. 13 Shall He who has created (all things) not know? He is the Subtle, the Aware. 14
