Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then return your gaze once more and yet again, your gaze comes back to you dazzled, and tired. 4 And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell; and a hapless destination! 6 When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. 7 Well-nigh it bursteth with rage. So oft as a company is cast thereinto, the keepers thereof will ask them: came there not unto you a warner? 8 They say, 'Yes indeed, a warner came to us; but we cried lies, saying, "God has not sent down anything; you are only in great error. 9 They will say, "If we had only listened or understood, we should not now be among the inmates of Hell," 10 So will they confess their guilt. Deprived (of all joys) will be the inmates of Hell. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
