Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell; and a hapless destination! 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 For those who fear their Lord in secret is forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 How could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom,] aware! 14
