Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In an elevated garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 and had not known my account. 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
