Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 its fruits are near. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
