Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a lofty garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
