Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In an elevated garden, 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
