Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a lofty Garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
