Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a high Garden, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
