But nay! I swear by that which you see, 38 And by oath of those you do not see. 39 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger. 40 It is not the speech of a poet little do you believe 41 Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember. 42 (This is) a Message sent down from the Lord of the Worlds. 43 And if he [i.e., the Prophets] had forged this Discourse and thereafter ascribed it to Us, 44 We would surely have seized him by the right hand, 45 and would indeed have cut his life-vein. 46 And not one of you would have been able to stop (Us). 47 And verily, this [Qur'an] is a reminder to all the God-conscious! 48 We know very well that there are some among you who reject Our signs -- 49 and surely it will be a cause of regret for the unbelievers. 50 And verily it is the truth of assured certainty. 51 So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 52
