Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 "And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 And surely He hath created you by stages. 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 He will make you return to it and then take you out of it again. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 so that you may walk along its spacious paths?" 20
