Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 Noah said, "My Lord, I have been preaching to my people, night and day, 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain, 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 who has created you in several stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 And Allah hath made the earth unto you an expanse. 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.' " 20
