Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: “My Lord, I called my people by night and by day, 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 He will send you abundant 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth. 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
