Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation, 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 Evert time I invite them to Your (guidance) so that You can forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their clothes, persist in their disbelief and display extreme arrogance. 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
