Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 He has created you by stages! 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
