Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 ‘And that the fool among us used to utter false exaggerations against Allah.’ 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
