Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 ‘And that the fool among us used to utter false exaggerations against Allah.’ 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
