Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 guiding towards consciousness of what is right; and so we have come to believe in it. And we shall never ascribe divinity to anyone beside our Sustainer, 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
