Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 That We might try them there by. And whosoever turneth aside from the remembrance of his Lord, him He shall thrust into a torment vehement. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
