By no means shall you attain Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, etc., it means here Allah's Reward, i.e. Paradise), unless you spend (in Allah's Cause) of that which you love; and whatever of good you spend, Allah knows it well. 92 ۞ All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel Made unlawful for itself, before the Law (of Moses) was revealed. Say: "Bring ye the Law and study it, if ye be men of truth." 93 If any, after this, invent a lie and attribute it to Allah, they are indeed unjust wrong-doers. 94 Say, "Allah has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists." 95 The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings: 96 Wherein are plain memorials (of Allah's guidance); the place where Abraham stood up to pray; and whosoever entereth it is safe. And pilgrimage to the House is a duty unto Allah for mankind, for him who can find a way thither. As for him who disbelieveth, (let him know that) lo! Allah is Independent of (all) creatures. 97 Say: "O People of the Book! Why reject ye the Signs of Allah, when Allah is Himself witness to all ye do?" 98 Say: O People of the Scripture! Why drive ye back believers from the way of Allah, seeking to make it crooked, when ye are witnesses (to Allah's guidance)? Allah is not unaware of what ye do. 99 O you who have believed, if you obey a party of those who were given the Scripture, they would turn you back, after your belief, [to being] unbelievers. 100 But how can you deny the truth when God's revelations are being conveyed to you and His own Messenger is in your midst? He who holds fast to God is indeed guided to the straight path. 101
