Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. 2 half the night, or a little less 3 Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. 4 Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message. 5 Verily the rising by night! it is most curbing and most conducive to right speech. 6 surely in the day thou hast long business. 7 So remember the name of thy Lord and devote thyself with a complete devotion - 8 (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs). 9 And bear patiently what they say and avoid them with a becoming avoidance. 10 And leave them to Me – these wealthy deniers – and give them some respite. 11 Lo! with Us are heavy fetters and a raging fire, 12 And food that chokes, and a painful punishment. 13 On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down. 14 We have indeed sent a Noble Messenger towards you, a present witness over you – the way We had sent a Noble Messenger towards Firaun. 15 But the Pharaoh disobeyed the apostle; so We seized him with a grievous punishment. 16 How then, if you disbelieve, will you preserve yourselves on the day which will even turn the children hoary? 17 Whereby heaven shall be split, and its promise shall be performed. 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19
