Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 rise (to pray) the night except a little; 2 Half of it,- or a little less, 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 For we shall charge thee with a word of weight. 5 Prayer at night leaves the strongest impression on one's soul and the words spoken are more consistent. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the Name of thy Lord, and devote thyself unto Him very devoutly. 8 He is the only Lord, so choose Him as your guardian. 9 And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. 10 Leave those to Me who deny, the lovers of ease and comfort; and bear with them for a while. 11 With Us are Fetters (to bind them), and a Fire (to burn them), 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment - 13 On the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains shall become (as) heaps of sand let loose. 14 We have sent to you, (O men!) a messenger, to be a witness concerning you, even as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh. 15 But Fir'aun (Pharaoh) disobeyed the Messenger [Musa (Moses)], so We seized him with a severe punishment. 16 If you disbelieve, how will you guard yourself against the Day that will make children gray haired, 17 Whereby heaven shall be split, and its promise shall be performed. 18 Lo! This is a Reminder. Let him who will, then, choose a way unto his Lord. 19
