Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - 2 half the night, or a little less 3 or add to it a little; and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5 Surely the rising by night is the firmest way to tread and the best corrective of speech. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Lord of the eastern and western regions, with due sincerity. 8 Lord of the East and Lord of the West – there is no God except Him, therefore make Him your sole Trustee of affairs. 9 And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the deniers, who live a life of comfort, and bear with them a little longer. 11 Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire. 12 and a food that chokes, and a grievous chastisement. 13 On the Day when the earth with all its mountains quake and the mountains become heaps of shifting sand. 14 Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 How, then, if you refuse to acknowledge the truth, will you protect yourselves on that Day which shall turn the hair of children grey, 17 The heaven will split asunder with its grief; the promise of Allah will surely occur. 18 Verily this is a reminder. So let him who desires take the way to his Lord. 19
