The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And your Lord glorify 3 thy robes purify 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 and children living in his presence, 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then looked he, 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
