The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise and give warning! 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 Purify your inner self, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
