The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou shrouded in thy mantle, 1 arise and warn, 2 and magnify the glory of your Lord, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 Pollution shun! 5 Do not bestow favours in expectation of return, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And made things easy for them. 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 Never. He is refractory of Our signs. 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 May he be condemned! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then looked he, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
