The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 purify your garments; 4 stay away from sins 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 and children living in his presence, 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
