The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 (Self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
