The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Cloaked one, 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 thy robes purify 4 Pollution shun! 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Lo! He reflected, and determined -- 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he thought; 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 Scorching the skin. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
