The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Cloaked one, 1 Arise and warn, 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 and purify your clothing, 4 and flee from the statues! 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked round; 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
