The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Rise up and warn! 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 and purify your clothing, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 frowned and scowled; 22 and in the end he turns his back [on Our message,] and glories in his arrogance, 23 and says, "All this is mere spellbinding eloquence handed down [from olden times]! 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
