No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 a warning to humankind, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
