Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 a warning to humankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
