Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who will be in Paradise 40 From the guilty. 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
