No, by the moon! 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
