I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 Warn the men. 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 about the sinners. 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
