Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 Warn the men. 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
