Nay! By the moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 About the criminals, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
