Nay, by the Moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
