Nay! By the moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
