By the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 Warn the men. 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
