No, by the moon! 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 it is a warning to man, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
