Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
