Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
