Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
