Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
