Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
